Just returned home, about a two hour drive, from Petenwell County Park in central WI. This was our first camping experience with our 33 foot class A. Weather was perfect for the three days. We had a very nice wooded site.
This county park has about 500 sites. Some are along the lakeshore but those are more out in the open. Many have electric and water.
Overall our first camping experience was fantastic. The staff there was very friendly and even delivered a load of firewood to our site when I said we had no car.
Other campers stopped in to say hello or greeted us as we walked past.
If you want a very quiet site in a nice shaded area ask for site 57. If you want to go swimming or fishing, the lake is a short walk away.
We hope all our camping experiences are as nice as this was.
