Atlanta area campground

Have to be in Atlanta in a couple of weeks on business. Any good campgrounds in the area that anyone would recommend?

A lot will depend on where you will be working as traffic in Atlanta can be a bear.

Closest on the north side is Twin Lakes in Cumming. http://www.twinlakes-rvpark.com/

There are quite a few very nice State and COE campgrounds off I-75 just North of Acworth, Ga. - the Red Top Mountain area and South along the lakes.
Cons: Traffic is bad going into the city during rush hours. They lock the gates at 10PM in most State and COE campgrounds.

I wouldn't use Jones RV park under any circumstance...condition, mgmt attitude, and SAFETY. It is rundown, 95% permanent old trailers + kids.

Thanks guys, we will be working at SREB on the Georgia Tech campus and believe me, we know about the Atlanta traffic but it can not be avoided on this trip. Silver lining, we go from there to Orlando to pick up our new coach!

Go to stone mountain park. Then take memorial drive all the way downtown. Hardly no traffic and about 30 minutes worth of stop lights and you're there. I made the same route for a good while

I'd agree on the jones review. Stayed there a year ago for an overnite. I stayed hooked up and left right after breakfast.

There's better options.

I've stayed here 3 or 4 times now and recommend it. It would not be a fun commute, but it's a good park. Only downside is, they don't take credit cards.

So where did you stay in Atlanta? We are heading to Dallas, GA in August with our Bus. We really need 50amp with W/E/S. Any ideas, anyone?
