We are going to a wedding in Palmetto Ga. First we will spend a week visiting Atlanta, then head to Palmetto, unless we can find an RV park in between. We are having a hard time finding anything with decent reviews close to Atlanta. We will not have a taoad, so we will have to be near a car rental. Any suggestions?

Hi Boeing Guy,
Consider using Enterprise Car Rental. They will come and get you and return you to your coach.
When in the Atlanta area (two times a year) I stay at Jones RV Park. Their contact information is 770-923-0911. It is about a mile from the beltway in in the North Eastern part of the Atlanta metro area. It is along I85.
This place is nothing to write home about. It is basically a convenient/cheap full hookup parking place. I've never had a problem. If you need propane it is real easy to obtain. If you are going to spend your time doing area activities and sleep at the CG, this might be a good choice. If most of your time will be spent at the CG, continue looking for a place to stay.

We have been to Atlanta several times and it is not an easy place to find a decent RV Park. We usually stay at Stone Mountain which is a resort in itself. If you go pay the extra for a fully equipped site as the others are not very level and a lot of the sites do not have full hook-ups. If you do go there, make sure you come in off of Ga. 78 as their other entrance has a very low underpass in the way.

First, forget Atlanta South, Forsyth KOA may be a little far and the reports for Stone Mtn. are correct. Also, the info on Jones RV is right on. Let me suggest you look into the newest Ga. State park...I believe it is Chattahooche Bend. It opens July 1 and is not too far from Palmetto. Hope you have a good visit.
