Atlanta to Bar Harbor...your fav stops

We are planning a trip to Bar Harbor for the Atlanta area in Sept. and Oct. Would appreciate any suggested stops along the way because I will not pass this way again.

We drove up I-81 a few years back and stayed over night in a Christiansburg, Va called Interstate Overnite CG. Just off the interststate with full hookups, cable and laundry facilities. I believe it was 20 bucks bach then. Just basic place to overnight, but very adequate.

Put cash in an envelope and drop it through a slot in the door. Never saw the owners/managers.
