We will be leaving Murrell's Inlet and heading to Atlanta shortly. We want to stop somewhere near Augusta to break up the ride. Does anyone have a recommendation for a campground in that area. We have a fifth wheel and would prefer a pull thru site and full hookup. The full hook up is not all that important though! Thanks for your help.

Petersburg COE park is very nice. Right on the water, about 10 to 15 miles west of Augusta. They have Elec and Water and dump. We've been there 3 times and love it. If you need directions, let me know. s/Toby

Toby, we'll be coming from Murrell's Inlet and I think we pick up 378 heading to Augusta. I have a COE camp book, but if you have some better directions, I'd appreciate it. Also, are they open during the winter? Pull thru sites?

Yes they are open year round. Their local phone # 706/541-9464. Try the loop for sites 47 to 53 they are on the water. They are all 50 amp. They are also pull-thrus. Highway 28 runs right to their entrance. Hw 28 is also off I-20. Get your gas in South Carolina, its cheaper. If you are staying in North Atlanta, threre is a corp park near Cummings GA that is open all year on lake Lanier. Off hw 400. Stay warm. s/Toby

Thank you Toby! I've jotted down the directions and will refer to our map as well. We will take your advice and especially on the "stay warm" recommendation. Unfortunately, that probably will not occur until we get to Florida. Happy New Year.
Linda
