Tuba City is on the Reservation. If you haven't dealt with them before you are in for an experience. I would stay anywhere else.

Full hookups most always mean water, electric and sewer. If the OP was lead to believe that he was being sold a full hookup site then that's what he should have received.
To those who say it's only $34 dollars well it's my $34 dollars and I expect to receive what I was told.

The only mention of an RV park on their web site is the following paragraph:

There is an RV Park that offers full hook-ups, cable television, showers and laundry facilities. Six tent sites are available. There is also a newsstand located on the property.

I think we all expect to get what we are told. I guess the demarkation here is just how upset should we be if we do not.

And the phrase "what we were told" is loaded with pitfalls.

I reserved a "pull through" Premier corner lot at a five star resort, advance reservation, etc; A heck of a lot more than $34.00.

When I arrived, checked in and drove to my site and pulled through my tow car stuck out into the street. If I went forward I went so severely down hill I could not level. I unhooked my car and moved it to a safe place. PITA short lived.

I walked back to the office and ask them why if I ask for a "pull through" did they give me that site (if there was a mistake maybe a little refund)?

"It is a "pull through"!

"How can it be if I have to remove my car"?

"Because you did not have to back up"! "People who are afraid to back up ask for them".

"Really", I laughed " I've never heard it explained like that".

The fact is I did not say specifically why I wanted a pull through (which I do now) and they did not ask. Just a misunderstanding.

Even though we think we know what Full Hook Up means I have been many places advertising such only to find that the wifi was a desk in the office as long as the office was open. In one case we had to have wifi, so they ran a cable to a special place where we were the only one with access. Nice folks and so was I.

These things happen all the time and I just try to weigh the real harm against the minor inconvenience.

But everyone has the right to struggle for their $34.00 just as hard as they want to and I defend that right. Just not sure it is the best approach.

With all the hassels of paying 'extra' for water and not having cable and the snotty attitude of the clerk it got me wondering....How far is the nearest Wal-Mart lot from that Campground?

Could've saved $38 and the headache and gotten the same experience right? I'm just saying....

FYI. Nearest Walmart is about 70 miles away. We don't tend to stop in WallyWorld RV Parks. Only if absolutely necessary. We do shop there! Have never seen bad service in a Walmart.

Don't know if there is a 'legal' defininition of 'full hookups'. I believe the common understanding is electricity, water and sewer. Some places have sites without sewer connection at a lower price, and state it as such.

I made this post NOT TO START A FLAMING THREAD. It was to bring this to the attention on anyone possibly staying here.

I firmly feel that if you accept whatever a merchant gives you and not what is stated then you are a sad case. The best way to resolve a problem is to make MANAGEMENT aware of a problem and warn others of the situation.

We have stayed in many Indian Casino locations and have allways been treated well by the staff. They are in business to make a profit and can only do so by maintaining good custmers that RETURN. I think that a hotel or RV park is part of the hospitality industry and success in this industry is based on customers. Staff should be well trained and some degree of a service oriented attitude is needed.

If you go to a restaurant and order a "burger with the works" and then are charged $1 more for the ketchup, you would NOT appreciate it. You would probably object but not say 'Oh well, it's their restaurant".

My escalating this to management has probably fixed the problem. If not, and you choose to accept such performance the next thing is a charge for something else that is normally included.

Oh wow. We stayed at this place last summer too, I did realize it was the desert and got the $5 water key deposit back the next morning without a problem. The site was not too level and we came in after dark, so it was a little difficult to get situated. But we were going to park at the convenience store and they said we could but that their security people might send us on our way. .... So we inquired where to stay and they sent us to this park. Actually we were glad to stay somewhere because it had been very windy and we needed to get off the road. I have worked with native people for years and was treated fine. I did not read any ads or make a reservation. The next morning at a different gas station a guy came up and asked for a smoke, but I told him we quit 3 years ago and didn't have any cigarettes and he moved right away. Please be aware of many homeless people if you end up in Eureka California and do not stay at the fairgrounds there!!

I think the message is that the best way to warn folks about a particular experience you had at a CG is to post it on campgroundreviews.com DW and I use this review and have never had a bad experience. By the way how was the Grand Canyon? That is on my list of places to go....I've heard the night skys are incredible......

There's plenty of water in the desert. Especially around the grand canyon!

Now, decidin' who gets it, that's a whole nuther issue......

I've been RV'ing since 1958. Back then you didn't even have a toilet in the RV. If you needed water you stopped at a gas station. The camp grounds were usually made for tents so no electricity in some. Spot not level? Bring some boards. Water was out of a common spigot and you needed a water thief to use it.
Never needed a pull through as the RV's were only 16' or so long. If our trailer club went to a rally we brought the clubs power cords and might have 20 amps for a dozen RV's. Water? Bring a "Y" and your hose off one bib.
Pull throughs are just that, you don't back up to park in them, if they're too short then unhook. No one guarantees that you can fit in one while hooked up.
I have yet to post a bad report on a campground. Why? Because I'm prepared for those little annoyances and carry extra sewer hose, electrical cords, water hose, etc.

Be prepared and hang loose, you'll enjoy life much better!

I can see both sides. Its only five bucks, but there is a principal involved. If I walk into a restaurant because a coupon encouraged me to go there, and they won't honor their own coupon, then I leave.

I often book hotels through Priceline.com. Yes, the one promoted by the chubby Captain Kirk in the TV ads. The fine print states that there may be an additional unspecified "resort fee" charged at check-in if you have booked a "resort" destination. As I checked in for a conference at an Orlando hotel, the clerk assured me that he could only check me in if I paid the additional $15 per night resort fee. As usual, I asked what the resort fee covered. The main component was a day pass to the YMCA pool across the street because this "resort" hotel did not have one. I asked for the manager and said "SERIOUSLY?". He sheepishly waived the "resort" fee and checked me in.
