OK...To the OP.

I'm having a problem understanding the extent you should feel cheated. Looking at the ad, it appears that what you (and many of us) think of as "full hook ups" is not what was in the ad. I'm left to believe you found the ad online and while the wording is "weak", it does say there are some fees. Maybe I will sound flippant but I think that if I was worried about the relatively small amount of money involved than I would ask myself why. I'm not trying to negate any argument on "principle" but to what extent do you want a small amount of cash to affect your trip? I think you are left with the option to pull up chocks and leave or work with what you have. I totally agree that it would seem appropriate to raise the issue with CG management to clear up any items but the attendant is probably not going to get you very far. Getting yourself all wound up on this only drives you crazy. If we were talking a larger amount of money, perhaps I would be more inclined to support a more dramatic approach.

To others...

For some reason I felt some commentary was a bit more "pointed" than needed. I agree with some that seem to indicate they thought the OP was making more of it than needed. I suppose the larger lesson I take from this is that some of us need to be prepared for the unexpected things that can occur when on the road. Stuff happens and if we get all worked up over it, we only get less enjoyment out of the rest of the trip. In this case, I think there were some chances for more experienced folks to say that in a way to address the OP's and others expectations that everything always go smoothly. YA RIGHT! LOL

Heck...I understand that the vast majority of ya'll have 100's of time the experience I have to date. Maybe I'm sticking my neck out on this subject but that is how I learn too. If I'm wrong, I hope to be educated better.

Not clear on one point. Was the $5.00 a charge for water or a deposit for the key? That seems to be what someone else who visited that place seems to say. If it is the latter, then it would seem that is no different than the many places that charge a deposit for a gate card to a gated park. I just had to pay a $20.00 deposit for such a card.
I am sorry if my original post seemed like a criticism. I was simply expressing my envy for being able to get a FH for $34.

What he's saying is that Tuba City is on the Navajo Reservation. If there's no casino and you want to park free (boondock) then beware of the Navajo Police as they don't allow boondocking on the reservation.

I had to read it about 5 or 6 times to finally get it (I think)

Heck, I was just guessing. having been through that area a few times I am aware that the Navajo can be a little trying to deal with.

We just returned from Hidden Acres CG in Dummerston, Vermont. I am a Passport America member and paid $43.00 for two nights with water and electric! Cheap! This place is just north of Brattleboro , Vermont which is a stones throw away from the Green Mountains and some of the best fall foliage that you can ask for. Heck, I remember a plaza there called Maple Valley so you know there is going to be some excellent foliage in that area.
If you get a chance, check it out. I will be going back there next year. It is a very reasonably priced "base camp" from which to go exploring.

Gee whiz, Mick, Native Americans sure didn't like it when the European invaders treated them that way. And I can't blame them.

But I had no idea Navaho's were so anti-social. I suspect those are areas I'll avoid. I have enough of an attitude myself and I'm getting too old for it. Life's getting too short.
