I agree with you. Why expose yourself to such negative conditions and feelings. Lots of places to visit without having to worry about feeling guilty about the past that neither you or I were involved in. Attitudes like that will insure that the area is avoided by the very people who could help it's economic position. Seeya on the road.

Already gave them everything they've got.

But your right to many good places to see and nice people to meet to put up with that.

I bought a 15' extension to my sewer hose, a 25' extension for 30 amp power, a 25' extra water hose and a 25' cable tv cord.

I can pretty much go anywhere to any configuration of campsite.

I especially bought these extra parts so that I could park face in to enjoy a view of a lake I was at.

Minuscule space taken, minor weight, big advantage.

The OP never did come back to say if he got his $5 deposit back, that he thought was a charge. And what he was upset about.

Or if they keep his $5 for water use charge?

Five dollars for water.. He was quoted a price for full hookup but when he got there they wanted another five bucks for water, That means they pulled a bait and switch on him, Illegal business practice.

As for the cable.. I kind of wonder why they had the jacks if they don't have cable (Though there is a legit explanation for that one, future improvement).

THIS IS THE $5.00 QUESTION !!

Tuba City is one of the poorest city's in the west, so it's no surprise that they lock the hose bib in a place water is so scarce.

If you didn't get your $5 back, then that's a discussion between management and employee on who stole a refundable (I assume) deposit.

I like that idea. In our relatively new experiences in staying at CG's I have been told to pull into sites that I would rather have backed into, and vice versa because of a more favorable view. With the extra cord & hose I could have done it my way. But, like I said, we are new to this so I obediently listened to the CG owners directions and did as they said. I really didn't think I had a choice to pull in or back in. Glad you brought this up.

I got my $5.00 back the next morning, the reason for the water being locked is 75% of these people have to haul there water and will fill tanks and jugs at the closest source. The "deposit" is to keep you from taking the lock with you. Get a life these are very poor people and have always been very friendly and helpful when visiting their country.

We don't know that for a fact. What we know is only what he posted with no backup presented.
Others say it was a deposit and they got their money back the next day when they checked out.

I too think that the OP is a little too miffed over a minor inconvenience. When we are on the road we make a concerted effort to "Adapt, Improvise, and Overcome' (Clint Eastwood) the minor inconveniences of travel. People working in these CGs are doing so for not a lot of pay, and they put up with a lot of folks who have nothing better to do than complain about everything from nuts to soup.

Sit back, take a chill pill and enjoy the fact that you/we get to do something that many folks just dream about...

Located in the the heart of Tuba City, Quality Inn & RV Park offers value accommodation in its hotel with amenities such as high-speed Internet access and free hot breakfast as well as RV accommodation in its 25-space park. The RV park offers guests sewer and electric hookups as well as water hookup for a small charge. A host building features clean restrooms with showers and laundry facilities
Is this not from the campgrounds website? If it is It clearly indicates that wifi is not free, and a small charge for water. It does not mention cable TV..

Am I missing something in this story or did the OP not go on the website?

The Original poster said he was "QUOTED" a price. This makes it sound like he talked to a living breathing human who gave him a price and failed to say "But wait, Don't put away your wallet yet, There's more" as it were.

I still say based on the original post it was a bait and switch, and that is illegal.

There has been some mention of the staff attitude.. I have been known to park eldwwhere on at least two occasions because I did not care for staff attitude.

on one of those occasions the park I wound up at is on my MUST RETURN list It was that good.. Better attitude too.
