Badlands

I will be heading from Chamberlain, Sd to Wall, Sd tomorrow . Can I take the motorhome and tow through the Badlands National Park on 240? Thanks

Yes. Was thru there in June f 150 pulling 32" trailer

You shouldn't have any trouble. The visitor's center is a worthwhile stop. Not sure where Chamberlain is but if you pass Murdo, there is Pioneer Auto Museum which is really interesting. There is a lot more that just cars there.

Took a 32 foot motorhome towing a Jeep through the Badlands NP in July 2013. Got off of I-90 at exit 131 took route 240 through the park and then came back to I-90 at Wall. No problems and most pull offs were big enough for us to have no problems parking and getting out to check things out. Great side trip on our way from Chamberlain to Deadwood, SD.

No problem. I took my 35-footer towing my toad last year.

It's a great ride! Back in '12 we spent the night at Cedar Pass campground, near the visitor center in the east end of the park. It was late Oct and they were in winter mode. IIRC, only a small section was open, FCFS, and no hookups. It may have been free, can't recall.
Enjoyed the evening there, then drove through the park (40 ft towing) in the morning with several stops. Checked out Wall Drug, bought a souvenir fly swatter, and had lunch there before moving on.
Definitely do it!

We camped in Wall and drove our Jeep through the Badlands. I was surprised to find a Class A driving the route. So it is doable.

There are some dirt side roads that get to some neat sights. They are quite wash boarded. I can't imagine what it would be like to drive a class A on those roads.😱
