About mid-July is the Western Pennsylvania Balloon Quest. I've never been to a hot air balloon festival so this one, with 20 - 25 balloons seems an ideal size.
I'm considering staying at Bear Run Campground in Portersville, PA at $55.00 per night for full hook ups. It appears to be about a 30 minute drive from the event (20 miles or so) which isn't too bad either.

Has anybody here got experience with this campground or recommendations for another?
Any information is appreciated.

I have not been to Bear Run but it looks like a nice campground & we intend to stay there sometime. We have been to Shenango Valley RV Resort and recommend it. It is a 10-10-10 rated park. It is north of New Castle near Sharon & Hermitage Pa. Chuck

OK, I am biased. My parents were dear, close friends of the original owners. Mom and Dad were fulltimers starting in the late 70s and spent their summers living and working in the park. I have not been inside the campground in years and so a! not familiar with the newest upper portion for larger rigs but it does have a high reputation.
We have driven by the Shenago Park as well

Enjoy the festival, if you stay at Shenago then please treat yourself to ice cream at Abe's. Its on the corner of Rt18 & 208 next yo Riders restaurant outside New Wilmington it will be on your route New Castle.
Oh and watch out for the Amish buggies
