Just secured 2 nights in Banff and 3 in Jasper. Banff Tunnel Mnt. Trailer Court had maybe 50 or 60 full service sites available for the first weekend in June, and Jasper (Whistlers) had maybe 20-25 electric sites left. Tunnel Mtn Village 2 campground is closed this summer.
Because of the closing, I went ahead and made reservations.

We are actually planning on going to the stampede. It may be late but do you have recommendations of RV parks in Calgary that we can try and make a reservation?

We stayed at Calgary West CG. It's crowded and expensive but it did have a shuttle to the fairgrounds. If you're going to be there for the opening day, be sure and get tickets to watch the parade. Also be sure to attend an evening of chuck wagon races.

2 Questions here. I'm going to assume downtown Banff there is a premium on parking. Can one bike from the Tunnel Mt. Trailer Court campground to downtown area. Are there any bike friendly paths that take you from the campground to the town?
#2 Traveling from Banff to Jasper (Whistlers Campground) how much should time I allow traveling the Icefields Parkway? Average speed? Towing a 25' tt. are any of the pull-off large enough to handle a RV uni being towed? I'm sure there is going to be many photo opps...Just wondering if I can actually stop to take in the scenery in a safe manner.

We never had any problem finding parking in Banff but it is under 2 miles from the campground to the town, so very bikable. Didn't see any bike paths, but riding the road is not a problem.
We took 1A, a scenic road from Banff to Lake Louise. Many places to stop and see the beautiful scenery. it is slow going, because of speed limit and stopping to see the wildlife and surroundings. If you stop at the Icefields, that will add a couple of hours to your trip. North or the Icefields is a lookout that is worth seeing. Probably talking about 1/2 to 3/4 of a day to do the trip right. You do it much faster, just taking 1 and not stopping much.
Enjoy!

Is 1A suitable for a big rig? Are there places to pull over and stop with a big rig?

Yes, there is a premium on parking although we did not have any trouble finding a parking place when we were there; with our toad. There are some RV places, but they are scarce.
But, the good news is that there is a great bike area along the road from Tunnel Mt. Trailer Court campground and downtown Banff. You will find lots and lots of bikers all over Canada. We were stunned at the number of bikers up there.
