Bass Lake or Yosemite
I'm hoping to book a trip for June. I know the inside lots in Yosemite are booked up. I've heard great things about Bass lake (wishon campground?) anyone been there? How's the drive to Yosemite from Bass Lake? Also would/might want to travel into San Fran since we would be close. Any locations near SF to set up?
I'll be pulling a 17 foot trailer

We never stayed at Wishon Campground, but have driven through it. It would suit us. There is Summerdale (Nat'l Forest) next to the park, about a mile from the entrance station on Hwy 41. Sites are up to 30 foot. We liked Summerdale too just wouldn't fit. In Yosemite at Wawona ( not in the valley) is another campground along the South Fork of the Merced River. That will hold up to 35' but we have seen 40 footers there.

Bass lake to Yosemite Valley would be about an hour... Maybe hour and a half. You won't be driving like me:-)

Stayed at Wishon many times. Loved it, but camped out. No Rv facilities. Of course the last time we were there was 1960😆.
Bass Lake to Yosemite will take minimum 2 hours and that's if 41 is open!

With a 17 ft TT there are a ton of places to rough it in the forest. Many CG's and are really camping at it's best. Check with the rangers.
