Is it what everyone claims it to be.I hear a lot of people complain about the price, which is pretty high for a campround. We don't mind the cost as long as its a resort type.Bayleys

Frankie,
I was there about 4 years ago. It was ok. The sites we were in were pretty nice back then, but I also just had our pop-up. The campground was clean, and the pools were nice. The lobsters were great

It was ok. It is way over priced for what's there but people pay so they keep going up! There are more CG's in the area that are very good too. Can't remember the names but they are close to the same area, Next door. Check out the Trailer Life CG listing or go on line to see what's available. The seafood tastes the same no matter where you stay up there. Have a Great time!

Maine camping prices are high to begin with, probably because of a very short season in a generally expensive area (New England). $40+/nite is common, so Bayley's price premium isn't far out of line for a place loaded with amenities. Assuming you like and use the amenities, that is.

But you still have to leave the campground to go to the beach or to get a lobster dinner, so maybe you don't need everthing that Bayley's provides. It's a matter of personal choice.

Based on a recommendation form MikeT I read in another thread, I made reservations at Wassamki Springs and paid about half. It is well regarded by Woodall's too.

Some of the sites at Wassamki are under the pines. The I section is in the open and not that bad.
You are on the approach for the Jetport, but they stop flights around 11 P.M. to about 7 A.M.

Geez... Now you've got me worried Mike. 'not that bad' and 'approach to jetport'. Is this a place I'm going to spend a week of my vacation? Please let me know. Last year's adventures were enough trouble to last a quite a while for me.
