Bend, Oregon mid Sept

Hi a couple of us from San Juan Islands, WA want to go to Bend, Oregon in our RV's. Just starting to check out reviews. I started with State Parks and these three seem to be well reviewed:
Tumalo State Park
LaPine State Park
Deschutes Campground

We like idea of nice; full hooks up but rustic with trees & trails :-)
Thanks for your time!

They should be on off season rates.

Bend, Oregon mid Sept

You will like Tumalo since it it so close to Bend, compared to LaPine and Deschutes. There is lots of places to enjoy the water across the street at the day use area. This is one of the hardest parks to get reservations so start planning now.

LaPine is a beautiful big park and if you have kayaks a great place to put in for a 3-4 hour trip. You will need registration beforehand at the park. It can fill up fast especially on the weekends.

I have never been to Deschutes park so I can not comment on this Park. I can suggest Prineville Resevoir, although the drive to Bend is an hour it is still a nice beautiful park with full hook ups. This one needs reservations but they also have Jasper State Park right next door which is first come first served.

Hope this helps.

We have stayed at Tumalo several times. Right on the river and very scenic. As I remember they have some full service sites.

Haven't stayed at any of the parks referenced. We say at the Thousand Trails preserve in Sunriver but really love the area. Weather in September should be gorgeous. Oregon State Parks can be very hard to get into. Make reservations now I would think.

LaPine State Park Bend Oregon in September

Thanks everyone! Tumalo was already full on the 2 weekends we are traveling to Bend. We got our reservation in LaPine State Campground and are grateful! Have any of you suggestions on best sites? the central reservations booked us in the 'middle' loop site #64 & 62. I tried to UTube and got some nice video views of the park but no 'detail' on the sites other than looking at the site map on the LaPine website ~
Thanks again!

If you go to the reservations, then filter by site #, you click on the site 62 or 64 and it give full info on that site. Pad, length, hookup and a small picture. Need more google earth?

I second the suggestion of https://www.campsitephotos.com/ and I also put the name of the park I am interested in in the search bar for youtube.com and most of the time there is either a video driving through the park or drone footage showing the park and surrounding area. No surprises that way.

We stayed her last year during the Eclipse. I highly recommend this place. A little further west, but worth it.
