We go to the area every year, we like staying at River Plantation in Sevierville. It is a short drive down to Wears Valley but the road is small and would be difficult for a large RV. I would be happy staying at any of the campgrounds in the area.

We enjoy staying at Up the Creek RV Camp. Just off of Wears Valley. Nice, quiet park. No facilities and no tent camping.

Twin Creek RV park is nice and on the trolley line for Gatlinburg. My wife and I stumbled across an awesome RV park near the apple mill in Pigeon Forge. It may be called Hidden Mountain Resort.

Been a few years since we have stayed in that area, but we have stayed at Claboughs a few times and Eagle's Nest. If you get much further out of town the road gets narrow and crooked.
Both of these are older parks but likely you will only sleep there and spend a lot of time in the park or exploring the PF area.
There are also a couple or three new smaller parks that look pretty small for a big rig. I cannot recall their names

When you're there, be sure to check out GSM Outfitters on Wears Valley Rd. Old Michigan friends left and opened up this outdoors store/coffee shop. We usually try to state in the National Park.

IF you have kids, Claybough's is good. It is bigger than most of the parks and most sites give you a "camping" experience as opposed to a parking lot experience. Good fuel and even a little restaurant there. We have also stayed at Two Rivers and it would be the "elite" of the parks. Sites on the river and fully paved - beautiful place and a little pricey. Out of town a bit on a lake is Anchor Down. A newer park with beautiful views, lots of rules, and worth a check-out when you are in the area.

I know at Claybough's the town trolly comes in and picks you up for Dolly Wood or really any destination in town. You will need to make reservations ASAP. good luck. mark

Hi Rockytop77,
I 1/2 time in the area. Consider choosing Clabough's that doc, MCJones and Ray,IN posted. Any of the other recommendations will get you into considerable traffic. The CG is at Home - Clabough's Campground & Cabins . . . 800-965-8524

Reserve now. The CG is very popular.
