Thanks Palehorse89. We own lot 68 which is across the street and 2 lots up toward the office. It's truly a beautiful place to wake up in the morning. I love to walk the dogs down to the walkway overlooking Skull Creek early and watching for Dolphins.

I live in South Florida and have the beach scene for way too many years. My two best places to go to are:
1. Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Tennessee area. If you like the mountains (GSMNP), hiking and exploring this is the place to be. Also, there is entertainment that can keep one busy every night for a month. For peace and quiet at base camp, consider The Dell. Go to Hidden Mountain | Cabin Types | The Dell RV and check it out. If you go, I can supply recommendations on places to eat and the top shows to go to.

2. Keeping with the same theme as #1, consider Branson, Missouri (okay, it is not near the east coast). The KOA is where we stay. There are plenty of shows and places to eat.

Cattiva,
As this CG used to be an Outdoor Resorts of America, you can usually be assured it is top notch. When we camped there in 09 it was still an ORA. There was cable and according to their website they do have wifi. Good location away from the center of activities. Basically your right on the Outer Banks but still in VA. There were about 75% seasonals when we were there but still available sites but you really will want to call early to reserve during the summer season. There's a little seafood place on Sandbridge Rd with the best She Crab soup you'll find anywhere. Check out their address with Google map and you'll see the great location for yourself.

We really loved Fall Creek Falls in Tennessee, place is beautiful. Fishing, hiking, biking, and some really nice mountain roads to ride a motorcycle on.

Since you are a Florida native, how about a nice RV park suggestion for a Snowbird? We like southern Florida, fairly large RV sites and a nice pool.

Hi have you ever been to Point Lookout State Park, In southern Maryland it is on the Bay and there is fishing and crabbing. They have a very large pier that goes out from shore to fish off of, if you don't have a boat, or they have charter fishing. They have Full Hook-ups and take large rigs. Hope you try it out and have a good time. Boothinmd

If you have a dog

If you have a dog and no kids, the best campground is 4pawskingdom.com in Rutherford, NC. The campground has several fenced in play areas for dogs including a fenced in swimming pond. Everything is for your dog including a doggie bathhouse and grooming stations. We camp there often and our Corgi loves it. It is in the foothills of the mountains, 20 minutes from Chimney Rock and Lake Lure (where the movie Dirty Dancing was filmed.)
