Best Route to Syracuse???

Good Morning All...

Bob and I will be heading to the Good Sam Rally in Syracuse (New York State Fairgrounds) on Wednesday. We are coming from northern Mass. and I plan on traveling the Mass Pike and then onto the NY Thruway (Route I-90). The directions that I downloaded from Good Sam tells me to jump onto I-481 before getting onto I-690 for the final approach. At another rally last week a NewYorker told me to skip the I-481 exit and stay on I-90 until I see the exit for I-690. He tells me that this will take me beyond the Fairgrounds and then I will be looping back, but it is an easier route and that I will then be approaching the Fairgounds from the right side.

Any opinions??? I like to do things the easy way whenever possible...

Thanks in advance.

Faith in Sunny Massachusetts

Either way will work. The I-90 to I-690 option avoids city expressway traffic but costs more in tolls. Mileage is about 5 miles more. It's a toss up, but I guess I'd go I-90 to I-690 because the roads and signs are simpler.
