Hi everyone. I am new to this forum. My husband just signed up on this forum a few weeks ago. We just purchased a Georgetown RV right before Christmas and are looking forward to taking it on the road with our three boys. We have frequented Disneyworld for the past 3 years and our first trip in the RV will be to Disney on spring break the last week of March. We are from Indianapolis and will be traveling down 75 through Cincinnati. We usually follow this route through Kentucky and Georgia all the way to Orlando. My question is are there any recommendations for nice RV parks/campgrounds to stay overnight on this route? We want to avoid the 65 route through Nashville since we have gone that way many times and found it to be hard to navigate through Nashville. We also would maybe like to try a different route through the Carolinas, but never have done that. Are there any RV campgrounds on that route that people would recommend? Thanks for any information.

How many miles are you planning per day?

When we drive that route (we winter in Orlando and have kids to visit in Indy) some of our overnights that we like are:

Oak and Pines, Lake City, FL
Eagles Roost, Lake Park, GA
Twin Oaks, Elko, GA [one of our all time favorites]
KOA, Cartersville, GA [not really a favorite, but really convenient]
KOA, Sweetwater, TN
KOA, Corbin, KY
Whispering Hills, Georgetown, KY

These are not necessarily great campgrounds for longer stays, but, for us, good overnight stops on the route you talk about. They are all easy off/easy on the highway with pull thrus and full hook ups.

We are going to be taking two days to get there and it is 1000 miles total, so I guess we would break it up about 350-450 miles per day. We are really thinking seriously now about going through the Carolinas. It looks like Knoxville, TN is about 370 miles from us and Asheville, NC is 480. We have heard that Asheville is very nice and scenic. From there, it looks like we could get to northern Florida which would be about 400 miles.

We like to stop at High Falls S P just south of Atlanta for a couple of nights
After getting through Atlanta we're ready for a break.
Electric and water hookups and plenty of room to wander.
