Thinking of spending the Thanksgiving week and Holiday in the RV. Any suggestions for nice campgrounds in areas that have a lot of Holiday (Xmas) decorations and activities. We would be limited to The South East and South Central areas because of distance. We've done Branson, MO and Nashville, TN previously and both were nice areas at that time of year.

Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Pigeon Forge, TN area always has an outstanding Christmas display. I know there are many other places because they advertise in the workamper news for workampers to help string Christmas lights and place decorations.

There is generally a big gathering at Topsail Hill in Santa Rosa Beach (Destin) at Thanksgiving. I'm really can't say about what decorations may be up.

Christmas on the River in Demopolis, AL is kinda neat. You can stay at the Foscue Creek (COE) campground (most sites are w/e/s) that's right on the river, though it might be too late to reserve for this year. If you are lucky enough to get one of the riverside sites you can watch from your RV otherwise there are benches, picnic tables and plenty of room for lawn chairs along the river.

They have the Christmas Parade where the "floats really float". They are actually huge barges going down the river. The main festivities are a little down river at the marina and include the AL State Barbecue championship.

Might also check out Pine Mountain RV resort in Pine mountain Ga.

Near Callaway gardens that has a fantastic drive through light show at the holidays.
