We plan on spending a week at topsail in October and would appreciate recommendations on site selection. Looking at the Topsail map loop 102 looks like it could be a little less traveled and possibly quieter than some of the other loops. Tough to judge from a map and any thoughts would be appreciated. Also, do the spots facing the lake allow pull in or are all the non-pull thru sites back in only? If you have a favorite site please let me know. Promise we will be out when you plan on being there.

I don't belive any of the sites except the few up front on the way in are bad. We stayed in the pullthru sites in the rear section in Jan. all very nice. If you are going to the beach everyday stick to front right side some look out at the ponds and are a little closer to the beach. Great state park better then the average SP. You will love it. They where building out some new sites in the rear close to the beach road they are probabley in use now check them out.

i second the last post, i'd take one of the ones at the entrance if that was all i could get. we like 83 and 85 because they're completely shaded, but might not matter to you in october. you can find it on google maps and use the sattelite (misspelled) veiw to pick your spot, you just have to kind of match it to a map of the campground. i picked my spot there and in several other campgrounds with it, street veiw also helps if it's available for the area. you can see exactly how it will be getting into some campgrounds.

ps they are redoing or have redone the entrance to the campground.
