We've been there several times. It is not fancy, but great ocean views and sites. A fun area to explore, too. If you love the sound of the Atlantic, you'll love it.

The ocean front sites are so tight both rigs cannot open an awning. If you like ocean views, get the pull in site(s). One pulls in, the other backs in.
We did not like the place because when the tide is in and there is a on shore wind blowing, you gets saltwater spray on it. If the tide is not in, you just get the salty moisture covering everything. I really did not like the ultra small sites nor their ultra high prices. We especially did not like salt over the rig.
There used to be a nice little restaurant just north of the CG, but it burned a few years ago. There is a nice little breakfast cafe on site but it used to get really crowded on a cool morning.

I second what doc said.We stayed a couple of times,a motorhome was pulled in we were backed in and no room for us to open our awning. We have windows across the back and the view is awesome but so are the rates! They went up quite a bit and no upgrades to the campground. There were "brown outs"when we were there. We met a nice couple from upper NY,she said what they were paying for 3 months use to get them 4 monthts, they weren't returning either.

Ditto on the two above posts. Very close, they alternate sites, one faces the beach, the next is back in. as a result, what little open area between the RV's is shared--- better like your neighbor ! The voltage was marginal, often dipping below 100v. Water pressure was about nothing.. I resorted to running my pump and using the onboard supply.

Well this is not looking very good. We may have to reconsider thank you all for the information. Any ideas for anything along the palm or space coast that is close to the beach.

If you want to be in that area you might try Bulow Plantation. It is not on the beach but is relatively close. It is Flagler County, which is one of the less crowded counties on the Atlantic side. Close to St Augustine and Daytona.
Bulow has large sites and full hookups. Not a resort by any stretch, but interesting area to hang out in for a few days and explore. We were there a few winters ago when we had an ice storm hit N Georgia and we headed South.
Lot of folks from up north winter there.

A lttle further south is Manatee Hammock at Titusville,no sites right on the water except for tents but just a short walk down with paved path and benches on the water. It is near the space center, great for a viewing if they have a launch. The only downside is they do have a helicopter training class nearby,if you get a site nearer the back it isn't so noticeable. We've stayed there twice.
Oh we have stayed at Bulow several times but not lately as its getting really run down. There has been a blue tarp on the bath house for 2 or 3 years,we ride through when in the area hoping they will do some work.It could really be a nice campground with a little effort!

Here's a couple of other options.... first try Gamble Rogers -- very hard to get reservations, but worth it if you can. I also found a small beachfront place in Ormond Beach this summer. Maybe about 20 sites, nothing fancy, but right on the beach It's called Seaside RV and is affiliated with a hotel of the same name next door Address and Phone # is :
1047 North Ocean Shore Boulevard
Ormond Beach, FL 32173
