Big Bend National Park?

I'm planning my first trip to Big Bend National Park (and perhaps Big Bend State Park too) next month for my kids' spring break, and I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for a nice RV park in the area. Also, are there any particular things to do that you'd recommend?

Based on my internet research, I'm leaning toward Maverick Ranch RV Park. If anyone has stayed there, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

We stayed at Maverick Ranch Rv Park last year when we toured Big Bend National Park (did not have time to make it to the state park). It's a very nice Rv park with pretty scenery. It was summer when we were there so it was pretty empty, but we would stay there again if we're ever back in that area. We did not use the pool so I cannot comment on that, but we did use their laundry facilities which were clean and adequate. It rained while we were there and the park did have some spots that flooded easily which I think is typical of that region of Texas. Overall, it's a nice campground.

I would suggest staying IN the park itself for the best experience. Rio Grande Village has both a dry campground which is our favorite or a full hookup campground. Depending on your RV size, there's also Chisos campground - dry camping - which is great and higher elevation so it's cooler. Then there's Cottonwood campground which is dry camping and is lovely but it doesn't allow generators if you need it.

Have a great trip. It's a favorite place of ours. I don't think the state park has camping but that might have changed.
