Big Rig Campground in Maine
Does anyone have a suggestion for a Campground in Maine with sites big enough for a 38 ft class A? Planning a 4-6 wk stay in July-August and would like something under $1K a month for 2 adults, no kids, no pets. We’ve stayed at the Pumpkin Patch Campground in Bangor and it was great but would like to try another area. Thanks.

Do you like to golf? If so, Palmyra Golf course has an RV park that might be worth a look. We have stayed there many times with a 40 footer.
It's not a resort park, so not what folks usually think of for a "big rig park". It's a nice, low-key family-run park, sites are grass and gravel, and plenty long enough.

We were in Maine last September, and the nicest campground we stayed at was Bayley's RV Resort and Campground in Scarborough. Check out their website. If you are traveling without kids, and stay there, I would suggest asking for the Adult-Only section as there will be less traffic and noise. Another spot near Ellsworth, ME in Trenton was Timberland Acres Campground. In the back is an open section that I am sure would handle your size rig. The front is wooded back-in spots and I'm not sure you would fit there. Not as nice as Bayley's, but not as expensive either and the folks there were nice.

Some good campgrounds that can handle your rig on the road to Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor Campground, Hadley Point Campground, Mt Desert Narrows Camping Resort, and a couple of KOAs. Love Acadia National Park.

For the folks suggesting Bayley's, Bar Harbor, etc., OP is looking for sub $1K/month.... None of those would meet that criteria.

We also travel without kids or pets and enjoy Wild Duck Campground in Scarborough, Maine. I’m not sure of the monthly cost, but if you are looking for a busy, resort type park, this is not it. It’s located in a quiet area, yet not far from activity. Some sites are close but we always ask and get a nice back in site near the salt water marsh. We are 32 ft and tow.

Per their website, they charge 25 nights' worth, get 5 free, for a 30 day stay (so July and August you would have to pay for 26 days). So somewhere between $1170 and $1820, plus tax. And they require a 50% deposit for all stays 7 days and greater.
