Does anyone have information about possible good clean campgrounds to stay in while in Biloxi area. Also so we can truly experience the area this winter do we need reservation? I would like to try a few different campgrounds without feeling committed. Also what is there to do in the Biloxi area besides casinos?

We stayed at Majestic Oaks RV Resort last May. There are full hookups, and the sites are nicely landscaped although they are a little narrow. There are train tracks nearby, but that was the case for all the other campgrounds we saw in Biloxi as well. Can't say how full they are in winter. Also don't know about winter rates, but we got a weekly rate of only $187 when we were there in May.

In Biloxi you can tour Beauvoir, the home of Confederate President Jefferson Davis. Read our blog post on Beauvoir HERE.

I don't know if they operate in winter or not, but we enjoyed the shrimping cruise and I highly recommend the Biloxi Tour Train (actually a tram) that gives you a lot of history of the area including the devastation caused by Hurricanes Katrina and Camile.

I also like Majestic Oaks RV Resort when I take the MH to Biloxi. In addition to the gambling, we have taken in a few shows at the various casinos. Check their websites for who's going to be where when. They do get some top performers. The wife is a big Kenny G fan and was glad to be able to catch his show when he was in Bilioxi. There's a lot of fine restaurants and shopping (it's coming back after being almost total wiped out) in Biloxi, Ocean Springs, Gulf Port, and Bay St Louis. A day trip or evening outing over in New Orleans is reasonable from Biloxi.
