Does anyone have any recommendations on campgrounds in the Biltmore/Asheville area? I may be bringing my two dogs with me so would the park to be dog friendly. I am planning on a trip around July 24 for a week or so. Thanks --

I highly recommend the National Forest sites just outside of Asheville. There are several of them and they're all great. We stayed at Lake Powhatan and really enjoyed it. VERY dog friendly with tons (tons) of trails. Alot of locals come to walk their dogs there in the week-end.

If you're interested you can see pics of the place here: NF Campground Review – Lake Powhatan, Pisgah Forest (Asheville, NC) | Wheeling It

Bear Creek is nearby if you want an RV park. Are you in a motorhome or a fifth wheel or a trailer? There is a KOA east of Ashville as well.

doglover116, you might consider creating a signiture that describes your RV. Responses might be targeted toward your style of camping that way.

Given your user ID, I'm thinking you might be interested in Four Paws, although its a bit of distance from the Biltmore.

I've stayed at Bear Creek and the Asheville East KOA. Many have recommended Mama Gerties but when we drove through, all the sites were on the side of a steep hill.

When you go to the Biltmore, take one of the back scenes tours too. We did the rooftop and the basement tours - both great.
