I will be traveling south on I-65 from nashville tn, and would like a recommodation for a rv park, that would be real close to I-65 around the Birmingham area (perfer not right in birmingham) either north or south of the city. thanks

Tom, I always stay at Oak Mountain State Park when visiting Birmingham. They have two different sections, and they do have some with full hookups. Several spots are not very level. Doubt they are anywhere near full this time of year so if the spot you are given is not level enough, you should have no problem changing. They don't take reservations for weekends unless you book at least two days.
From Nashville, go south of Birmingham on I-65 to exit 246. That is the second exit south of I-459. The exit lane will split into three lanes near the bottom of the ramp. Stay in the center, as the two right lanes will turn right. There is a traffic light at the foot of the ramp. Turn right and immediately get in the left lane at the first traffic light (about 200 feet). Turn left onto State Park road, and follow that to the first stop sign (about 2 miles). Turn left and you enter the park. There will be a gate with guard in a few blocks. Just tell them you are going to the RV park. The park will be several miles and is on the left. Not very well marked, but just over a rise. When you enter the campground, you will go up a hill, then down to the gate.
It is a quiet place to stay.
