Black Hills in June - Reservations Needed?

We are planning a trip to the Black Hills in June 3-12. Will be attending some events around Spearfish part of the time. Will we need reservations that time of year at CG's ? Is the City CG a good choice while in Spearfish?

Thanks.

No you won't need reservations in early June, as long as you're flexible in site selection. You may not always get your choice of premium sites, but there are plenty of sites. Only the 4th of July and the Sturgis bike weeks fill up the area CG's.
In Spearfish I much prefer Elkhorn Ridge, but the city CG is also good. The city spaces & access are a little tight; they have a half dozen larger "premium" sites that they charge an extra $5 a nite, which makes the price comparable to Elkhorn.

I will also be in spearfish that week, the cg will not open until May, so cannot make reservations until then.
