Blue Ridge Pkwy

Plan to RV the Blue Ridge Pkwy end of Oct... We want to start at Asheville NC and travel north. My concerns are the tunnels in NC, I'm towing a 40' 5er with 13' clearance and F350 . This is our first big trip to travel and camp at diff campgrounds. We have always went to one location and stayed for the entire trip. But we are really looking forward to seeing if we like this kinda traveling, which I think we will love it. But any recommendations on places to see and camp at would be really appreciated.

We were there the 1st week in Aug. The bridges on the parkway are low but I'm not sure of the clearance. There is a state park on the parkway that has camping. We camped @ campfire lodgings in Ashville and drove the parkway without the camper. The premium spots @campfire lodgings have an awesome view.

We were there in late July early August and stayed at Julian Price.
Nice CG as in all the parks that are along the parkway there are no hookups. They do have dump stations and water filling.
We then stayed at Rocky Knob which we liked much better it was smaller and quieter. There was also a lot hiking in that area. Last stop Front Royal at what used to be a KOA not very well maintained now. We were in a 31' class A without a toad but bicycles. You might want to read other threads about traveling the parkway. I read a ton of them. We didn't experience any problems along the way and saw way more motorcycles than autos or RVs. You just have to watch your speed and there are no shoulders so a bit scary at times. I would also recommend making park reservations as they can fill up.
Enjoy the views!!
