The Keys aren't the boondocks like they used to be (fortunately, or unfortunately, you decide!) There are Publix in all the major Keys, a Winn Dixie, a couple of Home Depot's, a West Marine in Marathon and one in Key West. If you are retired military, there is a small Commissary & BX on Sigsbee in Key West. Gas & Diesel are about the same price as the rest of southern Florida . . . .Real Estate taxes and Insurance are thru the roof
though, so if you plan on moving down there permanently, I would seriously recommend you consider 1) vacation there during July August, then you will understand why people who live there go NORTH for the Summer! 2) Consider buying a permanent campsite. 3) Consider buying a boat and mooring in the Keys. Sorry, I got a little away from grocery shopping in my post!
