Our most favorite RV resort on the planet. It's a perfect place to winter.

We are on spot 69. We are here for ten days. I have never been to key west so we spent the day getting a feel for where things are. Actually I am not sure what day it is right now.

Can you reserve particular spots at Bluewater Key?

Yes if you reserve early enough and the site owner allows rental. All of the sites are individually owned.

The site's rates are listed at about $150 a night that seems high to me, or is that normal for the keys?

We stayed there in January of 2012 for 5 days. They had a 5 day minimum back then and the rate was $130 per night.

Awesome resort but cannot afford that all the time. It was the best place to stay while exploring the southern keys and Key West.

The Keys are expensive. Even the KOA runs $100 a night & it is nothing special. They know that law enforcement doesn't allow for boon docking & is very strict. Reserve very early as the Keys is a special place.

It depends what time of year you go and what site you get. Also which rental company you go with. We paid about 75 a night in May on a canal lot. Try bluewaterkey.net. There are two rental companies - one dot net and one dot com. Dot net is the best IMHO.

In the winter, .net & .com are the same price. The only issue with .net is that they control far less sites.

All sites are privately owned and as I understand the owners have split into two groups for rental purposes.

The place is incredibly beautiful and maintained to perfection. The .com people are the on-site managers and are great folks.

Paradise is expensive, but so is everything in the Keys.......
