Hope you really enjoy your trip. Be sure to eat at Mangrove Moma's at about MM20 and Hogfish Grill on Stock Island. Caroline's on Duval is in a great location for people watching. Their food is good and reasonably priced.

You will have a wonderful, unforgettable time! The restaurant next to BWK is really good too. BTW we spent a couple of nights at Point of View RV in Key Largo - would recommend it for the sun sets. Beautiful. I still use this one for my background on my cell phone. Click image for larger version

Folks all view thing differently.........We just spent a month there. We drove through every RV resort/campground in the Keys, when we return, Point of View will be our choice again. If one needs a large site, or likes a lot of room at your site, this place has the biggest. I agree, there is not to many shade trees.......But I don't like my equipment being under trees, makes a lot of work for me. I seen those big lizards go, and it is not good and guess where they live?
The water front sites are wonderful, great fishing, lobstering, Manatees, sun sets right in front of you
We had a shade tree right in front of our Coach that blocked that afternoon sun. Bluewater Key, is without a doubt a special RV resort but it also comes with a hefty price. We were going to stay there, but they could not deal with our trailer they said.

Palehorse, I'm a huge fan of BWK, but I like what you're posting about Key Largo.

There isn't any trees except on the waterfront and sides. But, we liked it. Again the sunsets were to die for. Whatever rocks your boat.

We haven't stayed before but have visited in the hopes of staying some time in the future. We tried several times to get reservations, both through the HOA and a private group made up of some of the owners, and found that reservations are generally made a year out. That may have changed as this was several years ago. We stayed at the KOA - Sugarloaf Key around MM21 a few miles before you get to Bluewater. Completely different from Bluewater as the Bluewater sites are nicely appointed but, if you can't get there you may look at that as a second choice. It's not like other KOA's, trust me. Not promoting the campground, just offering an alternative if Bluewater is booked. We have never been disappointed there and the people we met from all over were great.

Thanks for the reply, as said earlier there are 2 booking sites, bluewater.com and .net. .com says call after feb for a booking in jan 2016. .net will take our reservation now but 2 issues. 1) not many back in sites as we have a 5ver and most hook ups on wrong side. 2) very few sites period

The nice lady at the desk when we checked in for our tour of the resort also stated that the rates were going up Jan. 1st.........she did not know how much. This is the .com side of the resort in the office. Don't know if the .net side of the resort is also going up?

Can you tell us anything about site 68? We have it booked for Spring Break but cannot find any pictures.

Thanks!

Great place!

I stayed there on my honeymoon.... And you can arrive late. We pulled in at 11:30pm if I recall, after a 790 mile day of driving.....

All the waterfront lots are great, if you can bring a canoe... Saw some baby shark not to far from the resort when we were there.

The very nice lady I made my reservations with was quite emphatic about no late arrivals. So I would not plan on getting there late without talking to them.

Bluewater Lot 68

Lot 68 is a great lot with a dock and swim ladder. The Tiki hut contained a refrigerator, TV, high top table with stools, plenty of counter space outside to store water, radio etc. It did have side panels that came down to keep it dry in the rain, although if you wanted them lifted up or down you had to have the maintenance man do it. You will love it!
