BluewaterKey.net vs BluewaterKey.com??

Back around September/2013 I put in a request for quotes at BluewaterKey.com for a trip in May/2014. They came back with a temporary reservation and said they could not give us a site or permanent reservation until the first of 2014. I contacted them again in early January and they said I had to wait until February to see what is available.

I need to firm up my reservations where I can firm up my stops going and coming back from Key West. So I contacted BluewaterKey.net in late December/2013. The initial response back was similar to BluewaterKey.com. But I got an email yesterday asking me what site I would like to reserve where we wanted to be. All I know is we want the Bay side. They also said they had site 81 available, but this one looks to be the biggest and I am assuming the most expensive one there.

Are the rates and service very much different between these two? Also any suggestion on which Bay sites to pick would be great.

If I remember correctly, site 81 is absolutely awesome! Take it, no matter the cost. You only live once! We used .net and they were great. BlueWater Key is a once in a lifetime experience (unless you are rich) - but one you will remember with smiles.

We've rented from both organizations, and I don't think there is much difference in pricing between the two. The .net organization manages about 20 sites, and the .com manages the other 61.

Site 81 was open when I was there last, and I got to check it out. To be honest, I wasn't all that impressed with it. It was nice, but compared to the others we have rented, it wasn't *holy cow* nice.

We stayed there the second week of November on the canal side, and worked thru Rita and the .net side of the business. The Bay side has nice views from all sites on that side but the canal lots are very peaceful and relaxing. If you care to set on a deck and lazily fish, the canal side is the spot to be. It's all good, really.

Oh, by the way if you rent thru Rita, stop in Homestead and bring her some Tomatoes. She will appreciate it.

I know that beautiful site 8.

One thing to keep in mind when selecting a site is the time of year you will be there and the fact that many tikis on the bay side do not have windscreens. It can be really uncomfortable or impossible to sit or eat outside in the evenings with the wind blowing in the winter. Wind is typically not an issue on the canal side. I suspect you'll be okay in May on the bay, windscreen or not.

All the sites are nice, some nicer than others. Bayside you have great views, but it can be windy. On the canal, it's calm, but you have the view of the houses across the canal . Short drive into KW.

Don't know what email address you used, but try rita@bluewaterkey.net. Rita is very responsive, and a great person to boot. I have her phone number if you need it.

I used the reservation inquiry form on their site.

Thanks for the info!
