Boone, NC Area

Hi All, Planning to go to the Boone, NC area between now and May. It has been some years since I have been to the area and I am looking for suggestions on places to visit in the area. Just thought there might be some folks here who have been since I have and have some suggestions on good places to visit while there. More than likely I will just be there for a long weekend. Good scenic places, rustic areas, local eats, etc. Thanks for the help

We enjoyed the Linville Caverns while we were in the area. Grandfather Mountain is a good option also.
