We're starting to plan a summer trip west and have decided we finally need to do Branson. Would appreciate info on campgrounds, must see shows and other activities we should consider.

Assuming they're still there, the Hughes family show "It" is a great show. It's 4 (or 5?) extremely talented brothers and their families. They are a very talented bunch. We saw it the summer of 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed the show.

Did it last spring. Great vacation. Good campground right down town. Located right behind the Titanic. Passport America. Saw CCR revisited. If you are a CCR fan its for you. Campground 1/2 block off main drag.

KOA was nice but be prepared for traffic. It took us 1 1/2 hrs to a little over a mile on the main drag on a Friday night last summer. Too many people for me.

KOA was nice and by using the back streets we got around quite well. It did take us a while to get there via the main drag however.

It's the KOA for me. Use the back roads to get around. The CG office will have maps. For shows, go to https://www.bransonshows.com/activit...FYRDaQodAfYFrA and get the details. All the shows are very good. I'd make a recommendation, but your tastes may be different than mine. In Branson, you can not go wrong.

ABC campground for us.. easy in and easy out to HWY 65.. get the map from just about anywhere in town, the rv park office, and use the back roads to get around.. hwy79, the main drag is usually a stop and go road.

Musicland CG is walking distance from the "strip", with easy access to back roads on both side of the "strip".

This is probably best avoided if you stay off Route 76... Take Roark Valley Road to Gretna Road and around to the "backside" of Branson Musicland Kampground (the one behind Titanic).

I find this map http://www.bransontourismcenter.com/...Map_screen.gif to be invaluable in getting around Branson in a kind of "barebones" way. (Keep in mind: That map is "sponsored" by the attractions listed. There are many, MANY more available. Check with whatever campground in which you land... They often have inroads to deals, the better shows and restaurants.) Have fun!
