If you ride bikes there are some great bike paths from Ruby's to and into the park. My neighbor at the Ruby's overflow CG told me that she, her husband, and 5yr old took their bikes on one of the shuttles, rode the shuttle to inspiration point then coasted back downhill on their bikes. It was way easier on her son doing it that way.

If you can, be at sunrise point just before first light. And, be at sunset point just before sunset and about 40 minutes thereafter. The color changes on the hoodoo's is amazing during those "magic light" periods.

Be sure to travel safely at dusk and dawn. Plenty of deer out at those times.
