Bryce Canyon to Zion N P

Looking at satellite images of the roads between Bryce & Zion. Not sure what roads would be the best to take. I have a 33ft winne with a tow. Have not had much experience driving narrow roads Any suggestion on best way to see both and what roads to use.

There are a few options for you:

1) 89 south to Hwy 9 west and straight into Zion. You'll have a steep descent into Zion but many RVers do it. You'll also pass through a couple tunnels which will pose no problem with your 33' and tow.

2) 89 north to Hwy 20 to I-15 south to Hwy 9 east into Zion. Hwy 20 is very easy for RVers. This route is longer.

3) 89 south into Kanab and Fredonia, AZ and AZ 389 northeast becoming UT59 to Hwy 9 at Hurricane and east into Zion. This is a very easy drive but longer.

4) 89 south to 14 east to I-15 south - this is very steep and curvy and would be the last choice for us. We've done the other three.

Have a good trip!

We were coming from Vegas, so it was I-15, then East on HW 9 to Zion. We took 9 East out of Zion to Bryce. You have to go through a tunnel, but it was an interesting experience. You pay a $15 permit, then climb the hill to the tunnel (switchbacks, but not too bad) then you stop at the ranger station. They radio ahead and clear the tunnel out for you, then let you go. The tunnel is 13' 1" tall in the center, but you have to take both lanes to get through (that's why they clear the traffic out first)! The tunnel is one mile long and pretty neat to go through. They make you unhook your toad, however I don't see why, but as soon as you get through the tunnel there is a turn off where you can pull over and re-hook. We have a 41' bus and tow a pickup behind and had no problems. Beautiful area!! Steve
