Bryce to Zion

Brice to Zion in a 40' Journey w/ CRV toad?

89 South to 9 West and deal w/ the tunnel, etc. to the East entrance.
89 South only to 14 West. Wend your way to I-15 and South to the Rte. 9 West entrance .

*If you've a good C/G to suggest, that would be appreciated as well.

The best you're going to find around there is the Zion River Resort. I have stayed there many times and it really is nice. Check out their suite.

Take the tunnel. It is a hoot. Stay in Zion Canyon CG just outside the west entrance in Springdale. You can take the shuttle right from the CG.

With your 40' motorhome you should prepare yourself for the tunnel by reading this:

There's a 40' RV length restriction and a 50' overall restriction. If you pass the 40' you'll probably need to disconnect the toad. It will be a steep downhill with curves. If you're confident with your RV and your mountain skills - go for it.

I would not recommend you taking Hwy 14 to I-15. It's very steep, narrow and curvy. Instead, from Bryce go west to Panguitch and north on 89 and pick up Hwy 20 over to I-15 and south to Hwy 9. Springdale is a good spot if you need full hookups. It's right at the park entrance and you can easily catch the free shuttle into the park. Springdale is a pleasant small town - restaurants, shopping.

Another route from Bryce would be to take Hwy 89 south through Kanab, UT and to Fredonia, AZ. Then pick up AZ389 which becomes UT59 which will take you into Hurricane, UT on Hwy 9. Then Hwy 9 east to Zion. It's a very easy drive. Have a great trip!

rogo88 Nothing wrong with 89 to 9 and then through the tunnel. You WILL have to disco toad. The grade is not all that steep. Just have partner drive toad through and after tunnel into Hurricane unless you find a pull over before Hurricane.

Coming from Bryce to Zion, when you turn right 15 miles from the tunnel there is camp ground. It is on the left right at the junction. Not anything special, gravel, treed, hookups and back in, cheap, restaurants if you want and 15 minutes from the tunnel and Zion. I'm 63 foot and had lots of room Chechen is across the street at the motel. Just another option.

I preferred to go back up the 89 to 20 West (easy grade), I15 south, to hwy 9. We stayed on the west side at Zion RV Park.
