Buffallo Roundup in SD

I was feeling sorry for myself today and thinking there has to be someplace new and something unusual to do.

Check out this link, it looks strange but it's a travel agent, I thought the event A Buffallo Roundup would be fun.

I'm packing my RV and after a week in Rapid City,SD we will go to: Terry Bison Ranch Resort, near Cheyenne, WY

Buffallos, buffallos, buffallos, then Bisons.

An article on that was in this month's issue of Midwest Living Magazine - just read about it today. I'd bet it would really be something to see (& hear...all those hooves thundering down the hill to the ranch).

since your going to be in Rapid City, checkout if it is time for the buffalo (bison) roundup in Custer State Park. we saw it several years ago. here we were just riding along the park road looking at the sites when we came upon several vehicles parked at the corrals when all of a sudden cowboys & real Indians, jeeps and a helicopter was bringing a large herd of bison to the pens. we stopped & watched how the whole thing was done. they had a viewing stand for visitors. it was something to see and smell (stink) that I still recall to this day. they keep about 1500 in the park if I recall, give Indians a percentage and sell the rest on the open market. it was very interesting to watch if you can take the smell from the branding.
maybe they still let the visitors to view this.
