I'll throw my 2 cents in here....
~ About an hour south of Burlington we have stayed a number of times at
Lake Dunmore Kampersville It can get crowded on the weekend and noisy, but if you stay away from the pool area they have some nice large sites. There are always things going on: 3 pools, bingo just about every night, Dances,
Shuffleboard, Horseshoes, swimming beach...Bring your kayak or canoe to paddle around the lake. The lake might be 1/2 mile wide by about a mile or two long. Here are a few pix's
~ About 30 minutes east of Burlington on the way to Stowe there is a low key campground called
Gold Brook Campground. Good location, the best grassy sites anywhere. It was mowed like a golf course. At the fire pit the grass was so nice I just laid down on it to watch the fire. Clean pool, clean showerhouse but dated.
