We stayed at Red Gate RV last month in Savannah and really enjoyed it. They have a shuttle that will take you to town as well. Really nice walking trails and lake. It was an old cattle farm at one time - turned into a RV park!Click image for larger version

We finally made it to cozy Milt Hill, NC to spend quality time with family for the holiday.

And for some much needed time out of the coach!!!!!

Well it's finally time to leave "Mint Hill, NC" and the relatives behind us. While I'm looking forward to this, my DW is not.

Tentative route home is:
1. Atlanta, GA
2. Summerville, GA
3. Chattanooga, TN
4. Nashville, TN
5. Memphis, TN
6. Dallas, TX to see several coaches
7. El Maso, TX
8. Phoenix, AZ to see several coaches
9.Then continue west until we find home (eventually)

Any thoughts and or suggestion for places and things to visit along this path?

All positive and fun thoughts/suggestions for places and things to do and visit along the path home are very welcome.

I forgot to ask about Muscle Shoals, AL.

We watched a documentary about the growth of music throughout that area in the 1940/1950.

Other than a few old building baring the names of these music production companies, is this town worth visiting?

Didn't read the entire thread, because I realized you should already be in NC for Thanksgiving (I hope).

But for future reference, just before you get to San Antonio on the West side, just off of I-10. Love this place...By The River RV Park and Campground, located in Texas Hill Country, Kerrville Texas Along the Guadalupe River.

Be sure to hike up to the northern tip of the property, and enjoy the waterfalls.

Good fishing too.

I have stayed there as well. Nice place, just don't get spot #17 in the spring. It's under a China Berry tree and drops hard berrys all night!

Not in my opinion and I live just down the road. I guess it depends on how much you like music history. The Alabama Music Hall of Fame is there and you can get onto the Natchez Trace Parkway just west of the Shoals if you are interested in driving any of it (it will head southwest towards Jackson, MS, not towards Memphis).

Don't know much about Muscle Shoals. But I stayed in nearby Joe Wheeler State Park a few years ago. I recommend it highly. It has full hookups with 50 amp electric.

I have to ask about the Bonsall Bridge?

I have been following your trip and saw where you are from and have to ask about the Bonsall Bridge. I grew up in Vista as a kid and remember going to Fallbrook and having to go across that bridge and it being so tight that you could bang mirrors with somebody pretty easy. Is that bridge still there?

That "Bonsall Bridge" is now quite derelict and abandon. Over the last few years, the state completed an expansion project of Hwy 76 and the single mirror-braking bridge is now two separate two lane bridges!!!

We just finished a nice dinner at The Hofbrauhaus Restaurant in lovely but VERY wet Helen, GA.

The restaurant is nestled into a German village complete with all of the holiday decorations. Loving it!! The only problem is... It's raining. I don't mean just raining. I mean IT'S FRICKIN' RAINING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We knew that when we left Mint Hill, NC we were going to head into the storm system. But... It's all part of the experience. If tomorrow bring a drier day (doubtful) we'll tourist the town. If not, on down to Atlanta to luncheon with a good friend.

Staying flexible and maintaining a sense of humor makes it all good!!!

One additional thought when stuck in inclement weather, but in a beautiful place: GET OUT AND EXPLORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Purely by chance we wound up settling in the Unicoi State Park. BEAUTIFUL park and general area. If you enjoy the deep woods, groomed and graveled contoured RV sites and facilities, this is definitely a place to visit.

Any suggestions for an RV park in Memphis, TN?

Anyone stay at:
1. T. O. Fuller State Park
2. Graceland RV Park & Campground

Thoughts:
1. Would you stay their again
2. Safe to leave puppies their in the coach while we tour city
