California on Hwy 395

Anyone go up and down Hwy 395 in california/Nevada border.
Great camping etc

Theres equally beautiful areas elsewhere, but if youre in the area, hwy 395 from Bishop to Bridgeport is loaded with most things RVer will love.
Old mines on the east desert mountains and on the west sierra Nevada mtns
Wilderness lakes, cabins, hiking exploring ,hot springs, all from Bishop to Bridgeport. Bodie ,a non comercialised ghost town ,other small mining camp/towns. Lots of history.

I think this part of 395 has the most packed into it along 395.
We escape the 100 to 120 degree summers and go there. Sometimes from Sept to oct.
Nice temps days and cool at night.
Highway is great and little traffic.
Theres always Mamoth Mtn for the citified culture.

Beware,we had to wait a week for a matching spare tire to be delivered to Bishop from Reno. Deliveries are only once per week
We had 2 blow outs that trip.
Should have two for spares JIC

Love the Owens valley and have spent many a vacation in the area. I would extend the area of interest from Lone Pine to Carson City... beautiful country
