My son has enlisted in the army and will be leaving for boot camp on August 5 at Ft. Sill (Lawton, OK). Sometime in mid-October, he will do his advanced training at Ft. Bliss in El Paso. Our family tradition is to camp the week of Thanksgiving and I would like to continue.

I've looked at the Texas Parks & Wildlife website and they don't have a state park in the El Paso area with hook ups. So my next choice is to ask the RVing community their opinion. So with that said...what are y'all s opinion for camp grounds in the El Paso/Ft. Bliss area?

Thanks in advance.

I just spent a week in the El Paso area. My friend who is retired Army showed me a RV park for the military in El Paso. With your son in the Army, maybe he can get you access?

If you can't get in there. There is Mission RV Park. It is Passport America and has an indoor pool.

If you are traveling from the East on I-10, take a look at Balmorhea, if it fits in your plans. Pleasant surprise.

We stayed at Mission RV Park a few years ago and it was ok.
