Camp Gulf, Destin Florida

Hello all,
My wife and I just toured the Camp Gulf rv park in Destin Florida today. We had read some reviews about it, some good and some not so good. We stopped in the main office to see if we could drive through and check it out. The lady at the counter was super nice and welcoming. She gave us a full color brochure and showed us the layout, explaining all the different areas. She gave us a 'tour pass' for our car and let us drive all through the park to see the amenities firsthand. The park was well laid out and very clean. This being February, there were some open spots, including right on the beach, which were spectacular spots! Most of the campground was filled, and the rigs were nice. If we get a chance to bring our rv down here, I'm sure we will want to stay there awhile. We plan to check out Santa Rosa rv park and perhaps Henderson state park rv area tomorrow before we leave. If we do we will post reviews of them also.

That's our favorite place! We spend 2 weeks there every August! It's amazing & we've met so many wonderful people, campers & staff. It's a little pricey, but when you figure out what it costs for a beach front condo on the Gulf, it's not bad at all! That whole area also has some amazing restaurants & the fresh seafood at the various markets, to die for! We always bring quite a few lbs of the fresh caught Grouper home with us... Cannot wait to get back there! One thing though, if you have pets, you're not allowed on the beach front sites, county ordinance.
