Camp Hatteras

Has anyone stayed at Camp Hatteras in the Outer Banks? Looking for recommendations for a nice, full-hookup campground in OBX.

We were happy with Ocean Waves, and it was considerably less than the KOA right next door. Can't offer any information on Camp Hatteras.

We go there twice a year during the shoulder seasons. It's the only place we've stayed in the OBX.

We have stayed at Camp Hatteras and enjoyed it very much. We reserved a premium site on the ocean side of the campground. Be sure to go over to the sound side to view some spectacular sunsets. If time permit during your stay, I highly recommend a ferry ride over to Ocracoke. If you're inclined to enjoy good food and cold beverages stop by Howard's Pub on Ocracoke. They had me in mind when they built that place.

We have camped there several times in May and September. The weather has always been hit and miss for the beach but we enjoyed the trips. We stayed either at ocean front or one row back. It can get a little windy. Enjoyed the take out steamed shrimp from Austin's.
