On our way from AZ to Ohio, we spent the night at this campground. Unfortunately we did not spend ENOUGH time here as it was a lovely place.
It is in the woods on Lake Pauline. A little challenging to get to--not right off the highway. The address is 1217 W. Rickelman Ave. Effingham ILL. the phone is 800-961-1198 and the website is: www.camplakewoodcampground.com
Pets are allowed too!

My wife and I stay at Camp Lakewood a lot. It is a weekend trip for us, about 80 miles. Yes, it is a very nice campground. Full hook-ups, and the price isn't bad. I've sent Brian a copy of your message. He likes to keep track of comments on the campground.

we also stay at Camp lakewood, it is an overnighter for us heading to and from Arizona. the couple who own it are very nice and more than accomadating, the bathrooms sparkle and are really large, also the laundry room is huge and also very clean. We make it a point to stay there each trip. This spring we stayed 2 nights, cause they have cable and our next stop in Auburn at the KOA does not, plus the weather was iffy over in Indiana..We recommend this CG!

I hope you don't mind, but I sent your message to Brian as well. Yes, the laundry room is very large and clean. Also, you can set in the laundry room and use the Wi-Fi that is offered. When I get close to the "use it or loose it" vacation policy that we have where I work, we will spend a week in Effingham. Not that far to St. Louis, Metropolis, or some of the Amish sights. My wife has Multiple Sclerosis, so if the weather is to hot for her to be outside, then she can set inside and watch cable TV.

I sure Brian will appreciate your comments.

Oh, I think so! I will have to say that when we camp there, Brian puts us in site 20, which is all the way to the back. I guess the riff-raft must park on the ends!!!!!!

Hummm, October 20-22. Is this a weekend?
