Camp Verde or Prescott info

We are looking for a long term spot. I love desert living but want some beauty to it. We are currently east of Reno where it is so barren except what people have planted. We spent a winter in Quartzsite and Yuma - loved the desert there with all the variety of cacti.

Thinking of the Camp Verde or Prescott area. My husband has medical through the VA so need to be in an area with good VA (have heard good reports about it). They can't get colder in the winter than it did here - 17 of 23 days last winter were below 10 degrees.

Anyone have experience and/or opinions of those areas?

If I were in your situation, I would consider Point of Rocks CG, Prescott. Gorgeous place although not fancy. Affordable!
Close to VA and all other amenities.

Dave - that place looks great. Looks like a perfect place to circle the wagons.

That it is!
Lots to see in the area, lots of off-road trails.
An RVM paradise

It is spotty throughout the area, mountains and such. AT&T is great in the campground.

Point of Rocks park is very nice as is Prescott and Camp Verde. However, it does get cold in the winter - and snowy. You might consider the Tucson area with a terrific VA Hospital. The surrounding Sonoran desert is lush and beautiful.
