I stayed in the KOA north of the bridge. Enjoyed it a lot. Took a cruise out of Ganaoque and had a great time. North of the bridge is very close to all the sightseeing

1000 Islands is a very beautiful area. Would like to spend the summer there sometime.

We stayed 4 nights at Merry Knoll and it was a bad experience for us for several reasons. Someone was on our site when we went to it and the owner would do nothing to get them out. So I had to do it myself. Also the electricity was very weak and it was hot there in July of 2010.

Can you see any of the big ships pass by or is it too far south of the St Lawrence Seaway to see them?

It's generally too far south , but did see a few off in the distance.

CLIFFTALL is right. Most of the big ships head due west out of the St Lawrence toward Toronto or the low end of the Welland canal at the west end of the lake. However Cape Vincent is just down the road and every ship coming up or going down the SeaWay has to pass this spot.
