Need to know of a campground near Carroll Iowa for a trip down there on May 6th. I think there is a Federal or State park nearby but need to know any specifics about it or the area.

Where is Carroll, Iowa? We have stayed in a couple of campgrounds in the NE part of Iowa during the last couple of years and if that part of the state is what you need then I would be happy to let you know about those.

Tissy, Carroll is about 70 miles west of Ames. I know there is a state park near there, Swan Lake SP I think, but I don't really know anything about it.

Sorry that I can't help you with any specifics about the campgrounds in that part of the state. But I can tell you that any of the parks we have seen in Iowa are nice - well kept, clean, friendly helpful people, etc. I have only seen two of their state parks (but have never camped at one) and they were both very pretty and well cared for.

Unfortunately, Swan Lake is not listed as having camping available.

Rick/Carolyn, thanks for the link. Turns out Swan Lake is shown. In the link you sent there is another link to "Conservation Corp" facilities and Swan Lake is managed by the Carroll County Conservation Corp. So, thanks for your info.
