Campground near Colonial Heights VA
Hi Everyone
We are looking for a campground that is open and can accommodate a 45' Motorcoach. We are going through that area after Christmas and staying there for a few days to see our daughter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Karen

The time of year will limit your choices. You will have to go toward Williamsburg or the beach most likely. There is a Williamsburg KOA and an Outdoor Resorts of America that I'm sure will be open and big rig friendly.

Check Pocahontas State Park, it's on Route 10 west of Chester. Nice camping pads with water and electric. About 10-15 minutes from Colonial Heights. Otherwise, you may need to go to Williamsburg, about 30 minutes or so. Hope this helps.

Wow,
Someone wanting to go to where I was raised.
I wish I could give you some good ideas.
What I see above would also be my recommendations.

Looks like the state parks charge you for dogs. $5 per dog per day? is this correct? Never heard of a state park doing this!

Pocahontas State Park is down the road from me. Nice park very nice area never saw the camping locations as I'm new to the RV thing so never paid attention. I would offer my parking area in my yard but my Bullmastiff and attack chickens may be a turn off... :-)

I don't want to rain on your parade but we use to host at Pocohantas state Pk and I'm almost positve that they close for the season in Nov around the Thanksgiving if they are open at all there are no water connections . You might want to call the park office!

Virginia state parks close for camping the first Monday in December and reopen march 1. We also camp host in VA.
