We are traveling from Burlington Ontario to Omaha Nebraska, planning on taking two days. The mid point is somewhere near Michigan City MI. Does anyone know of a good stop over park (no frills req'd) within (+ -) 50 miles. Any other comments on this route would be appreciated

If you are traveling by I-94 across southern Michigan, there are several Michigan State Parks in the St. Joseph, Mi. area not too far off I-94 before you get to Michigan City, Indiana.
There is Warren dunes SP in MI
Indiana Dunes SP and Indiana Dunes National
Lakeshore in INIf you're traveling through during the week you might get in ok If on a weekend try to make reservations in advance.
The national lakeshore is a few miles east of the state park.
Both state parks have electric only the national no hookups
